Olyphant came back Tuesday in an episode amusingly titled “The Olyphant in the Room,” continuing to torment Dean while also striking up a romantic relationship with Claire Lacoste (Natalie Morales). In fact, Claire even brought Olyphant on the team’s stakeout. And Dean thought he might be their prime suspect:

It was a sort of surreal hilarity that wouldn’t have been out of place on It’s Garry Shandling’s Show. And Olyphant, with his well-perfected comic timing and willingness to send himself up to begin with, demonstrated that he’s truly undervalued in the comedy department.

Timothy Olyphant to return as guest star on the hit American single-camera comedy television series The Grinder. Rake replaces Dean in show The Grinder signaling an on-screen rivalry between brothers Dean and Rake on the series’ Episode 9.

Episode 9 entitled ‘Grinder Rests in Peace’, Dean Sanderson, Jr. (Rob Lowe) receives instruction from The Grinder spin-off series to bid goodbye to a character mostly associated to him – Mitch Grinder. According to Spoilers Guide, the cherished and favorite Mitch Grinder of Dean will be replaced by his show brother Rake Grinder whom Timothy Olyphant will play. Dean gets jealous and has a hard time accepting his “defeat” over Rake.

The Grinder Episode 9 entitled ‘Grinder Rests in Peace’ airs on 1 December 2015 at Fox.
