“Justified: City Primeval” begins filming Wednesday at Chicago Studio City

Justified: City Primeval has currently taken over the entire Chicago Studio City complex for the summer. The much anticipated show is a reboot of the two time Emmy winning FX Justified which aired for six seasons from 2010 through 2015. Episodes one and two will begin filming this Wednesday.

The limited series based on Elmore Leonard’s novel City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit, stars Timothy Olyphant, reprising his role as U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens. The story which is set in Detroit, is expected to film in Chicago through late August, with plans to do location filming in Detroit in August.

Quentin Tarantino is among the eight executive producers on the show. It has been rumored for months that Tarantino will direct an episode but it appears that writer / director / showrunner, Michael Dinner will likely direct the first episode.
